Wonderful, meditative album.

"I bought this album (yes, the vinyl) for magnificent "Joseph's Song." So many songs are written about Mary and her viewpoint, but this song is about Joseph's viewpoint, not when he was in a quandary about his bride's pregnancy, but at the point of becoming a new father. The other songs are excellent too without one undeserving track. The lyrics are, without question, some of the most intelligent lyrics I've heard in any form of music. The only "political" song on here is called "Spirit of the Age," using Herod's massacre of the youth of Bethlehem as a comparison to abortion of today. The rest of the songs are purely spiritual. I find it interesting that in the credits he thanks Garrison Keillor for "providing a most wonderful place to escape the pressures of daily writing and recording." Card's masterpiece is a unconventional sacred Christmas album that is worth the trouble of buying.
This CD is the first part of a trilogy on the life of Christ. The CD's in the trilogy are The Final Word, Scandalon and Known by the Scars."
