"Michael Lewis, an Edmond, OK native, has brought forth his first solo album, "Dig For the Light," the highlight of his new label, 6x6 Records. You may recognize Lewis as the underappreciated genius who led former band For Love Not Lisa and currently fronts Puller. "Dig For the Light" is a gathering of songs that don't necessarily fit into Puller's mold. Most of these songs are acoustic, but don't let that scare you away; it still rocks! Lewis is a multi-talented songwriter, vocalist, guitarist, and artist. The beauty of his lyrics, tinged with Lewis' faith, is exposed in every song. For example, my personal favorite, "The Greatest Thing," says, "...and if I die before I wake, forgive my weaker days/and if my fire burns away, come and light my way..." His powerful voice make these lyrics come to life. I highly recommend this album to anyone, but especially to my fellow Oklahomans who have grown cynical about our music scene."
