"I really liked "Vivid" when I got it last year and was pleased to see that Lington's current record label rereleased his self-titled debut album from a few years ago. Opening track "Another Time" is typical of the funky, late-night jam feel the album has, as does his rendition of "Tell It Like It Is," helped by Bobby Caldwell's vocals, but it still stays within the smooth jazz parameters. The rest of the disc follows suit and I really liked the ballads "Romance" and "When I Hold You". It isn't quite as polished as "Vivid", but it also doesn't have the slightly irritating pop leanings of that album, and I hope Lington goes back in this direction for his next album."
