SOUTHPORT RECORDS continues its 20 year old quest to record and document new music from Chicago with its initial 1997 release by flutist, arranger and composer MICHAEL MASON - "EXPLORATION." This is Mason's third SOUTHPORT release and moves into a new direction with original compositions and creations, also offering the rare WYNTON MARSALIS early composition, "Twilight". The music of Michael Mason brings a renewed energy to the musical terms 'hard hittting... cutting edge... progressive and modern'.
