"If the Immer mix CD series by Michael Mayer is your idea of down time, downtempo compilations then the new 3 version release will blow you right out of those flannel jammies and over-sized wool socks. Courtney Tidwell starts off demure and enticing with an Evan Pearson mix of Don't Let The Stars Keep Us Tangled Up. That's some heavy handed subliminal suggestion at its finest just when you think you are all cozy and nestled in Departures by Closer Musik will probably get your lazy behind airborne and have you jumping from your sleep number friendly mattress cutting some serious rug groove over the heavy turkish pile. Seeing paisleys rotate in said carpet Ben Watt and Julia Biel keep your blood pressure a rock steady with Guinea Pig. Oink, oink, the magic carpet ride continues.............
Tim Paris - Edges of Corrosion and Smith N' Hack - Falling Stars let on this night is special as rotations spin on. For my divvied up coin the Gui Boratto remix of the Massive Attack - Paradise Attack is a sonic paradise found as it nudges the whole affair as the crescendo if this album needed one. I guess this collection could be club music somewhere in some country on this planet. Those of us whom were "wassup rockers" back in the day hardly remembered relish an album showing maturity we can relate too. This Michael Mayer sound obviously feels the years and a cumulative toll they take. It allows him to give back a listening pleasure without the embarrassment of "too young for these grooves you old codger you".
Charolette Gainsbourg - The Operation (Terranova remix), Culoe De Song - The Bright Forest, and Kinky Justice - New Day finish up the album with tunes that make you feel pertinent and essential to the listening process at hand. Its not over your head, but smart enough to figure he had me and you in mind when he put it all together. I don't have a clue as to why I should bother expressing my opinions. I just thought something should be said from the other side of this world now. A place you all will arrive at years from now. No one is excluded. Groove on my friends. I welcome you to the place I'm at now and and soon to be moving on from. By the time you arrive it'll be Immer 5 or some said senselessness. Proper attire not required."
