Synopsis

Album Description
2008 digitally remastered edition of Nez's sequel to his critically successful album The Prison comes packaged with a CD-sized book, both housed in a slipcase. In 1994, some 20 years after The Prison, Nesmith wrote and recorded this sequel. The story follows on directly from The Prison, although it can be appreciated by itself. The music was recorded and mixed in Dolby Surround Sound at the same time as his Tropical Campfires album by the same excellent musicians, but with the addition of a woodwind and string sections, the only time Nesmith has used such instrumentation. As a member of the first-ever manufactured group, Michael Nesmith needs little introduction. Aside from his ground-breaking projects in the field of music video and film production, he has enjoyed a solo career since he left the Monkees that has encompassed many styles of music, but has always been supported by his wonderful songwriting. CD Reviews

Inspiring and relaxing

(5 out of 5 stars)

"I am an avid fan of Michael Nesmith and I believe this is one of his finest works. He combines a beautiful story of a somewhat confused man with the most beautiful music you could ever listen to. Then it is all summed up in the last song, very simply sung by Michael and accompanied by his children, to whom this work is dedicated. I would recommend this to anyone who is searching for something to give them hope or uplift their spirits. I know it did mine. Life is so much more than daily routine. Sometimes we need to look for the one who waters the garden."

"Okay , the concept is the same as "The Prison" but works better. Read the libretto (story) while listening to the disc. Great tandem experience , ONCE. After that , if you're like me , you will listen to this trance like music over and over again , without reading the story."
