CD ReviewsFrom Plaintive to Toe Tapping - It's Wonderful! Jane Nation | North Carolina | 03/04/2000 (5 out of 5 stars) "Second Wind proved to be a wonderfully written cd both from the standpoint of the lyrics and the music. The lyrics are narratives which allow you to envision each cut from the cd. The music ranges from plaintive to toe - tapping! My favorite cuts are "Good News", "Coast of Texas", and "Caroline" but I can honestly say that I like all the cuts. Michael Reno Harrell proves himself to be a wonderful song writer and performer. I will be buying his next cd based on how much Ilike this one. If you like Robert Earl Keen you will like Michael Reno Harrell." Great songwriting. Jane Nation | 04/17/2000 (5 out of 5 stars) "Songs 1-5 are absolutely killer. The album falls down a notch in cuts 6-8 but finishes out very nice.My favorite is of course the soon-to-be North Carolina State Song "Caroline". That's right it doesn't apply to South Carolina, sorry :-). Cuts 2,3,5, 9 and 12 are instant classics, period. Well worth the price of admission." Americana at its best Music Lover Nolan | 07/27/2004 (5 out of 5 stars) "If you like good music with a country feel without all the nasal twang of popular country music these days, Michael Reno Harrell is the artist you want. Michael is a master story teller and turns out a good tune as well."
