"What If" is the collaboration of five musicians who bring the listener into a musical setting that is as enjoyable to experience as it is difficult to describe. Though each member has a "politically correct" classical background they've all reached beyond that world to explore other styles ranging from the improvisations and rhythms of jazz and Latin music to the energy and textures of rock and new age. The end result is an engaging and refreshing musical offering with surprises at every turn. The instrumentation alone lends itself to frequent second glances with two acoustic guitars (one driving a synthesizer) flute, electronic cello and bass, a variety of percussion instruments and dynamic vocals. At any given moment the listener's eyes and ears are in disagreement as to how many musicians are actually contributing to the sonic collate they hear versus what they see before them.
