CD Reviews

Album title Alone is enough
Anthony Reed | Bryan, Tx | 11/08/2004

"In the fabulous and lucrative world of R&B you can imagine and understand how many artists are overlooked. The gentleman that gave his all on the No Equal album is no exception. It's so disgraceful to see the talentless go about with record deals and have people like brotha speaks go hardly without notice. I remember hearing Whatever you need back in 95 and seeing the video. I can recall seeing him on the Keenon Ivory Wayans show when it was airing. To say Mr. Speaks himself is an R&B artist would rob him. He surely can be classified as entertainer. His voice is raspy but at the same time smooth. His power behind it is undoubtedbly one from on high. Mr. Speaks himself said he once was homeless and you can hear his eagerness on the tracks when he sings as if to say I wanted food and shelter and now I'm giving it. Jesus Is Real has to be one of the most played and celebrated modern versions of the song with good reason. His prowess over the song can be felt because he truly had something to sing about. NO EQUAL is undoubtedly just that and will surely suffice the appetite of musical fans anywhere. From his R&B to his Gospel he truly has No Equal when it comes to his voice.
