"I heard Michaela singing at the Ottawa Folk Festival a week ago (August 99) and was totally knocked out by her musical honesty and sincerity. Beyond that, her voice is, as the other Amazon reviewer put it, a heavenly one. When I first heard Michaela's CD, I could not believe that this was the artiste's first professional recording. The quality of her voice is amazing. When she sings, she brings a heart wrenching truth to her delivery that brings a tear to this most unsentimental eye. Whatever I do for recreation this coming Fall, I have to find a way to see Michaela in concert. I cannot believe that we have such a talent in the Ottawa area. I don't expect that she will be around here for much longer. She is very talented, easy on the eyes, and I have listened to her CD about 15 times since I got it, and consider it one of my all time favorites. Money well spent !! Gabe."
Voice like an angel whispering in your ear

"When we all die and go to heaven, we will be listening to the music of Michaela Foster Marsh. Her lyrics are God inspired and her voice is like an angel whispering in your ear. Michaela is an undiscovered gem in the sea of mediocrity which is modern music. Buy her CD to discover how music can and should be...an inspirational medium transporting you to a more positive state."
A humble attempt at a review of Michaela Foster Marsh's CD
"If someone else hadn't introduced me to Michaela's CD, I would never have tried it out on my own. I will never forget the day my sister casually popped Michaela's CD into her disc player as background music while I was visiting. Let me tell you, forget it being good background music. There is no way you can talk over those incredible songs. It needs to be listened to loud and it demands your full attention. The sounds Michaela mixes in, combined with her distinct voice, passionate piano, and rip-your-soul-open lyrics, makes it a surreal experience. It didn't take me long to become a fan! Seeing Michaela live was nothing short of a religious experience for me. Very few musicians move me emotionally, especially with the current trend of pop stars singing catchy tunes that seem to have been written by marketing pro's. Michaela's CD is a refreshing, original and beautiful offering that everyone should have the chance to experience."
Something delightfully different

"Wanna enjoy something delightfully different that goes straight to the heart and soul at the same time? get naked, raw, and pleasantly sophisticated all at once? lose the boundaries between dreaming and waking realities? Then listen to this work of happy creativity, and be seduced by "Fallen Angel", tickled by "Time Bomb", inspired by "The Maker and the Holy Man", and shudderingly massaged by "Torn to Bits". You'll come to find a special place in your heart and collection for this album!"
A collection of beautifully crafted, lyrical songs

"If someone needed the definition of "singer-songwriter", it could be found simply by listening to Michaela Foster Marsh, and "Fairy Tales and the Death of Innocence" will prove this to you. Quite a change from the acoustic piano/strings accompaniment of Michaela's live shows, her album is produced in such a way that it makes the listener see the song in a different context. Songs like the opening track, "Right Here" and the title track, have a glorious driving beat that adds incredible power to them. Others, such as "Naked in the Water" have a calm, ethereal sound. Coming from someone who had heard the live shows first, I prefer the stripped-down versions of some of the songs. But it's no matter, either way. These songs are lyrically rich. There is often a sense of understanding and always a suggestion of hope. With Michaela's sweet, distinctive voice soaring through her beautifully crafted songs, "Fairy Tales and the Death of Innocence" is a gorgeous piece of work...very inspiring."
