"Thanks to the lovely effort of a high appreciated person I could know this outstanding recording, sincer and deeply expressive in this Jazz sesion. Petrucciani was always a sincere musician, and his technique worked out as an ornament he simply did not need it to captive the most exigent audience.
Go for this singular recording and you will enjoy it from start to finish.

"This fabulous double album from the late Michel Pettrucciani starts with a first track 40 minutes long. This is worthy of Keith Jarrett, except that what MP does is, as the track title says is play a 'Medley of my favourite songs'. Starting with an interesting reading of 'Maiden Voyage' which seamlessly becomes 'My Funny Valentine' until 30 minutes later he finishes with his unusual, and extremly quick version of 'Take The A Train'. This is done with a left hand ostinato part taken from his own composition 'She Did It Again'.
Picking out favourites is easy on this album and disc 2 starts with a stunning version of Monks 'I Mean You' which like the 40 min track above seamlessly becomes 'Round Midnight'.
The little man was one of the greatest European Jazz Pianists and this Solo Piano album is one of his finest recordings.
