Fantastic

"Fantastic taste, fantastic musicianship, fantastic track list, fantastic interplay. Fantastic Michel but all the other cats are great too in this recording. They are pretty unknown (I don't know them... sorry), but here they are always playing the right notes with the right time and intention. I appreciate a lot the will to try to open classic jazz to modern sounds, first of all electric bass and electric keyboards. These instruments add a special flavour to this recording. Which is a classic bebop one! You can find in this album unbelievable bebop phrasing by Michel in a truly modern context. The album is full of Charlie Parker, Miles Davis quotes... The tracks are 8 gems, but BITE is in a class of it's own. Fantastic, I hate to repeat myself, but here I have to. As a jazz musician, I constantly refer to this album for inspiration. BUY IT"

"I agree totally with the other 5 star review. Our local jazz fm station, also available online (kplu) plays this version of Petrucciani's "Looking Up" at least twice a week. Why this is not in print is a mystery."
