Miguel reinvents himself with a full and extensive sound. Each song from this album, and their video, creates and recreates a lyric and musical odyssey. The artist, here as work, voice and image, floats through situations and keen life experiences to cover controversial topics: immigration, homophobia, the power of the word, love and enmity. Up to now, no one in the Spanish contemporary musical realm had put forward his ideas -musically and visually- with such conceptual simplicity and his artistic maturity as Bosé. I have my own questions, though I do not want to sin as a gossip: Why the symbol of a red cross? Could those rumors be true? What has motivated the artist to create a new closely personal manifesto? But, who am I, crapy mortal, to question God's manifestations in the creativity of a human. Ah, and the "Explicit Material" label is false."

"I could write a lot about this new album from Miguel Bose. However, I will resume my opinion in just these few words: elegant, modern and simply delightful!!!...As usual!
Get this version (with the DVD). All of the videos are excellent!!!"
This proposal could be more radical

"In the world of electronic music Bose's proposal is not that radical. I was expecting something more extreme. The music and songs in Velvetina are very well done but reminds me the work of Bjork in the late 80's. As always Miguel demonstrated that his music is a jewel in the world of commercial music and I feel that deep inside his heart he would like to do something really different dedicated to those who appreciate more independent non commercial music. I rated velvetina with five stars because his perseverance and dedication to create his own space in the world of music( Bose is a very good actor also)."

"Miguel is the most complete and talented artist in the Spanish Pop/Rock scene this days and I must say that because he really shocked me with this work. Velvetina has it's own world and invite us to be seduced by its words and it's perfectly fussion of sounds. A world of wisdom thats where Miguel stands by and Velvetina once again remind us the artist that is Mr.Bose.
Daring and absolutely provocative Velvetina confirm us how absurd our world is turning out these days with its leaders and their evil agendas. Effectively and in a very sutil way Miguel says NO to Mr. Bush's war party targetting topics like ethnic and sexual discrimination ( hey MAX ¿Quien es MAX?, Viene Sam Viene Sam corre aprisa huye MAX..,Ójala Ójala... que la paz que la paz sia pradva, Da tu voz YA...,) and of course his most basic and complex topic: LOVE... and it's torrid and painfull universe.
Velvetina's Iconography draw us a wide variety of beauifull images, seeing and considered as one of the most deep selfportraits of Miguel, the videos are incredibly done, every frame is presented carefully and with the unique and distintive view of Bose's... Nothing is free-delivered .. the photography is sublime and the lyrics never fall into that MTV formula that seems to work for certain artists: the image is parasite of text and viceversa...
Velvetinas grandiosity is simple and once again Miguel remind us the beautifull "verde canalla" that he is and always be...
This is for you Miguel in my lonely days, miles away from you...
