"Mike Cross has a true knack for showcasing songs which grab you by the ears and heart and will have you singing along in no time. My favorites include "The Scotsman," "Elma Turl," "The Saturday Night Poker Massacre," and "Directions." This is one album which will stay in your mind, causing you to break out into song at unexpected times. Truly enjoyable!"

"This compilation of previously-released tracks showcases two of Mike Cross's many sides: his way with a humorous song and his great picking and fiddling. There's more emphasis on the humor, but, to my ear, what makes this different from most recordings of humorous music is the addition of Mike's astonishing musicianship."The Scotsman" is a well-known funny song - one of those that you'll hear somebody try to sing after a party's been running for a few hours. Mike not only remembers all the words, but also throws in some nice guitar licks between verses. Most old-time fiddlers, mandolin pickers, and clawhammer banjo pickers know "Whiskey 'Fore Breakfast". Mike is the only one whom I've ever heard sing it. The combination of his singing and picking is absolutely dazzling.I'll also mention "The Great Strip Poker Massacre" as a well-crafted and very funny song, although the same could be said for almost any cut here. Highly recommended as an introduction to Mike's music, or to anybody who just wants to laugh hard while listening to some good music."
