CD Reviews

A treasure trove of secret, supah-dupah tracks

"Little do most people know, this maxi-CD is a whopper of a deal with more than 60 mins. of music! Skip Mr. Oldfield's original and go straight for the remixes. BT will aurally seduce you into hallucinations, and the HARDFLOOR remix will kill you where you're standing. Both slather it on thick and heavy with two juicy tracks each. This single will definitely re-arrange your neural pathways permanently (and that's a good thing, kids). When my best friend played the HARDFLOOR dub remix for me a few months ago, I almost lost control of all my bodily functions. It's that damn good. Trust me, you won't be sorry for purchasing this semi-obscure nugget of sonic gold."
Oh my GOD!

"It's true! The remix's on this CD are the closest thing to sex without the real thing. I first heard BT's Luminescent Mix on the dance floor of the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Dance Party and I haven't quite had an experience to equal it yet.Sure the album version is nice... but the (barely recognizable) remixes are heaven on a stick. Listen to it with headphones on now!"
Maxi-single? Pretty damned 'maxi' if you ask me!

"Artifact #1: Mr. Oldfield and his track "Let There Be Light" from his "The Songs of Distant Earth" album. Artifact #2: one Brian Transeau, better known as BT. Artifact #3: the remix alchemists known as Hardfloor. Combine and compile. Result: this disc, containing some astounding and beautiful remixes of Oldfield's original track. To say that these remixes here by BT and Hardfloor are some of the most amazing reworkings known to God and man would be an understatement! Both take Oldfield's music and transmogrify it into epic, immersive, and sensual trance symphonies that not only take the form to new heights, they're perhaps some of the finest examples of the remixers' art to date. 60 or so minutes later when the disc is over, you will be stupefied at how many ways BT and Hardfloor have managed to shuffle the magic deck that is Oldfield's original track. A must-have for both those into serious epic trance as well as those who enjoy Oldfield's work."
