Synopsis

Album Description
2010 release from the former Faith No More vocalist, an Italian language rock-meets orchestra hybrid. Recorded at a series of European performances including an outdoor concert in a Northern Italian piazza, this album features traditional Italian Pop songs as well as a rendition of Ennio Morricone's 'Deep Down'. Patton worked with a 30-piece orchestra and choir to create the uniquely new Mondo Cane sound. Patton's body of work continues to evolve and grow with a wide range of bands and solo projects including Mr. Bungle, Faith No More, Fantomas, Tomahawk, Peeping Tom and most recently as a film composer and voice actor.

An Instant Classic

"This really is a beautiful recording. I got my album tonight, tore open the packet and have listened to it three times in a row. The orchestration is stellar, the vocals are definitely Patton, but certainly from a very different angle than we have heard before. Even if you have no understanding of Italian, you'll enjoy the cadence of the pronunciation, but if you do understand you'll certainly enjoy some of these 'oldies'. When Mike Patton recently said that this album would be for "anyone with a heart in their chest" I didn't really think he'd quite get that deep on this album. But he did. I recommend that you play this album to anyone with a set of ears. It's simply a wonderful record, perhaps one of the best that will come out of 2010 (and we're not even halfway yet)."
Just awesome

"I am a big Patton fan, so I am admittedly a bit biased but this album is a blast to listen too. Patton stretches his vocal talents to a new level and is backed by a great orchestra. Patton always comes out with something fresh and new, even while covering Italian classics. If you want to hear something a bit different, check this out!"
Even Better Than I Thought It Would Be

"Quite a while ago, I heard about this project from Mike Patton, watched some videos of him performing these songs online, and realized that an album of this stuff would be amazing.

Finally, the album has been released, and even though my expectations were very high, it has managed to somehow exceed them tremendously.

I think Mike Patton is the greatest singer of all time. You may or may not agree, but if you are familiar with the diverse range of his work, you may see where I'm coming from - the guy is a freakin' vocal magician, able to pull so many different sounds out of his vocal chords like pulling rabbits out of a hat.

Now, for his latest trick, he sings Italian pop songs in perfectly fluent Italian, backed by multiple musicians including a full orchestra.

I can't imagine anyone disliking this album. Well, if you are turned off by lyrics you can't understand, you may not like it, but really that shouldn't keep you from this album - it's just too good to let that stop you.

If life was fair, this would be one of the highest-grossing albums of all-time and would be enjoyed by millions of people around the world.

However, life is not fair, and I would guess this album will sell relatively few copies.

You owe it to both Patton and yourself to get it now - support good music! Enjoy good music! Spread the word!"
