CD ReviewsBEST CD MIKI HOWARD EVER RECORDED! C. L. Prather | Harlem, New York USA | 04/10/2007 (5 out of 5 stars) "Miki Howard is from back in the day....when there was attention focused on vocals and not the interference of a whole lot of dancers or make-shift videos. This import from Germany "Femme Fatale" is by it's own definition in the title represents Miki Howard as a beautiful and sedutive woman with a infinite voice range that brings the listener close and intimate to Ms. Howard's heart wrenching songs. My favorites were the two standards "Good Morning Heartache" and "This Bitter Earth"; brilliantly sung, both Billie Holiday and Dinah Washington would have been proud of her interpetation of their signature songs. From the two previous torch songs mentioned above, Miki duets with the strong and commanding vocals of Christopher Williams in a R&B track called "Hope That We Can Be Together Soon" a remake of Harold Melvin and The Bluenotes pleading loving song of reuniting two lovers. "Shining Through" is wonderful and makes your heart feel good as it demonstrate a spritual and memorable emotion of hope and conviction. For anyone who has been betrayed or walk on by a lover..."Cigarette Ashes On The Floor" reeks of heartbreak, low self esteem and "forever lost" as Miki Howard pines to a lover who doesn't care how they treat her. I have been looking for this CD for years, after hearing the first two songs played at someone's house. The stores did not carry it, but I never gave up. Cruising on Amazon.com... BANG! THERE IT WAS...AND AT A GOOD PRICE. I highly recommend this CD to all of you out there who love pure singing and good musical arrangements. You will be playing it until the disc cannot stand anymore!" STUNNING MASTERPIECE~BRAVO MIKI HOWARD!!! Bradly Briggs | TOLUCA LAKE, CALIFORNIA | 05/25/2004 (5 out of 5 stars) "How was this masterpiece overlooked? From the stunning Billie Holiday opener "Good Morning Heartache", clearly this is an extraordinary singer of remarkable power and range...many have done "Good Morning Heartache", but Miki nails it! No contest the greatest bargain ever available on Amazon so take advantage all you lovers of great singers...this is the real thing! Truly masterful take on Dinah Washington classic "This Bitter Earth" makes it clear Miki is in the same class as the classic singer she skillfully gives tribute to and throughout this tremendous collection is just plain great singing. Classic blending of two stellar vocalists make "Hope That We Can Be Together Soon" a sensuous and winning duet that should have been a Quite Storm Classic #1 hit...where was radio & why were these incredible tracks kept from the public? Sadly the potential listening audience was robbed as were the artists who deserved acclaim for this stunning achievement. Miki hits the heights & clearly is one of the all time greatest and hopefully something will happen that will give her acclaim that should come her way. "Shining Through" sounds like a masterpiece that should have been a mega-hit like "We Are The World" as it is that grand in scope and is so passionate...Miki soars over a magnificent arrangement & full choir with greatness that comes from few and must have been devastating to have something so great ignored...guess Radio Programmers were really out of it in the early nineties...what other reason could it be? "But I Love You" is a soulful classic with Miki again giving a brilliant performance while the funky jam "Ain't Nobody Like You" should have gone to #1 as it cooks & is truly mindblowing! Just when you think Miki has done it all along comes a mesmerizing classic "I've Been Through It" and by now anyone who loves great singing will wonder why this classic masterpiece didn't receive at least 5 Grammy Awards as it was certainly worthy...equal to great collections like the vocal classic "Dusty In Memphis", "Femme Fatale" is a timeless vocal masterpeice not to be missed...Bravo Miki!" Keep on sanging!! island girl | Florida | 11/20/2006 (5 out of 5 stars) "I heard this cd and I couldn't move. I was literally stopped in my tracks. She has such a powerful voice, I love this cd.
