"Forget that this film has some of the silliest lines in epic history ("Watch out for Sodomite patrols!" being everyone's favorite). The score is by Miklos Rosza, and that means the entire experience will be invested with beauty, grandeur and heightened emotion. I first heard one of the film's tracks years ago, on an obscure British LP, listed as "Love Theme from Sodom and Gomorrah." Yes, the title makes you snicker, but the melody was gorgeous and haunting, and I was utterly thrilled when the entire soundtrack was released. At this price, grab it, or before you know it, it'll be $45 on some obscure collector's site...."
