"I bought this in the mid-1990's when I lived in Evanston, IL where the Millar Brass ensemble is located. I had the privilege to sing once as part of a chorus in a local concert with them. The group is absolutely top notch, and this recording is a gem. The arrangements are fresh and the playing is tight for such a large group. I especially like their selections from the Nutcracker Suite and We Wish You a Merry Christmas.



Thanks to the contributor providing the album art. I've been looking for it for a while, and have been too lazy to scan it myself!"

"Being a brass player myself I love the brass quintet literature but after my first 40 or so CD's of that I wanted to branch out into recordings of larger brass groups.



THe Millar Brass Ensemble is one of the best Brass groups I've come across in 20 years of collecting brass ensemble recordings. (The now famous Empire Brass and Friends Gabrieli CD being No. 1 on my list). Possibly the smoothest performances I've heard. Get their recordings while you can if you are a large brass ensemble aficianado!"
