Upbeat pop reggae

(5 out of 5 stars)

"In the late 60s and early 70s Jamaican music explored a number of ways forward--this is before the triumph of roots reggae under the Abyssinians and the Wailers and Spear and all those people you love so well you silly you--and one that was discarded was a pop reggae sound, upbeat and bubbly, and very much a cheerful music--there was actually a lot of it floating around and frankly much of it is, well....vapid and not very interesting. This is a very exciting CD since except for the great Desmond Dekker it is some of the best pop reggae I have ever heard--it is fun happy music by a wonderful singer.

So why haven't you bought it already?
