CD Reviews

Historoc gathering of the great musicians from memphis area
David L. Banes | McEwen, Tennessee United States | 05/17/2006
(4 out of 5 stars)

"i give it 4stars for the historic context.this was not a planned session, just four guys having fun and displaying natural talent.this was an exciting time for pop or rock and roll music and memphis was host to it.you can feel the excitement and appreciation that each artist had for the other.oh for the golden days of rock and roll."
Fun and historic
B. Ross | Colorado | 07/24/2006
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This isn't a polished, highly edited studio recording - so don't expect it to sound like one. The quality of the recording is what you would expect for that era. Don't expect clean, digitized quality - it's comensurate with the technology of the time. This is a really fun "listen in" on a session with these greats, complete with some of the dialogue and goofs that take place in recording sessions. It's like sitting in with them while they're jamming. If you're a fan of any or all of these guys, this is a really fun CD."
Best Elvis and other stars jam session
Bruce E. Roberts | California | 01/03/2007
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This is like something that you dream about. I didn't even know that this event ever happened. The first disc of the actual "Jam" session is not as good a recording as we are used to today, but that's because this whole thing was unplanned and just happened. All that the owner of Sun Records could do was turn on the mikes that were standing around and hope for the best.

The second disc is very well mastered and contains songs by all four of these legends in slightly different versions sometimes of songs we are familiar with, so that is kind of nice."
