The Quick Blonde Fox!

"Mimi Fox's second album for Monarch showcases the artist in a number of settings. Being that I'm an organ trio nut myself, it's pleasing the hear Fox stretch out with the likes of Joey DeFrancesco and Will Kennedy. The tracks with Charlie Hunter are great as well and Rusell Ferrante's playing is exceptional as always. Fox's fast playing style is different from that of Les Paul in that each note rings despite it's short moment. Something having to do with Fox's influences coming from horns rather than other guitarists. It works!"

"Mimi Fox is an excellent guitarist, but like many newer jazz artists, lacks a unique sound and good artistic feel and emotion. Part of the problem is that this CD is all over the place stylistically, which really bothers me a lot. It's impossible to get any sort of groove going. The second reviewer also correctly pointed out that Mimi tends to repeat many licks over and over."
