"Wow, what a crazy ass record this is. I bought this CD purely on basis of the reviews i found here on Amazon. I was bored of what was out there and just looking for something different. It didn't have to be Rock/Rap/Soul/Indie.....just something different, any style. Well my friends I found it in this wondrous power packed record. The Album title alone grabbed my interest & so i gave it a listen. 'Dicks are for my friends' is one of the funniest, catchiest sing-along songs I've heard in the last 10 years. The whole album is full of subversive, nasty little lyrical snide-remarks & expletives which make no apologies to the listener. So you either go with it or not. I don't see any half-ways here. For me I find the whole album a refreshing blast of hot-air, bursting with the sort of attitude Punk pretended to have back in 77'. I cannot categorize their sound either. Let's see 'Jungle/Rap/Rock/Techno' - Ahhhh who cares. I'm 42 years old and I suppose I'm too lame to be listening to stuff like this but for me it's a drop of fresh air in amongst the dross that's out there right now. So check it out. Listen to some sound samples. The songs themselves probably aren't much longer than the sound samples. Short, sharp & fun. Check it out."
This album has me wrapped around its middle finger

"If you took some tapes by the Lords of Acid, Devo, Mr. Bungle, Danielle Dax and Carter U.S.M., chopped them into little bits and threw them around the room and glued them back together... you'd probably end up with a sticky mess of glue and tape that would be totally worthless.
But you'd still have a good time if you were listening to Mindless Self Indulgence's "Frankenstein Girls Will Seem Strangely Sexy" while you did it."

"I bought this CD when I was 14, after hearing a few songs off of Napster (remember that??). Shortly after the purchase I saw them live and this just reinforced my then- (and now) opinion of Mindless: they are an amazing band.
I recently broke this record out, seeing as it had been about a year since I'd given it a serious listen. Truth be told, I think I like them more NOW. This is probably in part because I'm older (18) and because I can now appreciate the punk rock nature of this band, something I gave no thought to at 14. At that tender, stupid age, I was completely and utterly entranced in the terrible, TERRIBLE nu-metal scene. Korn was my favorite band. I had terrible taste. I didn't even really know what punk rock was, let alone care that Mindless, while not having the generally accepted "punk" sound, is one of the few TRUE punk bands in existence today.
Do not listen to the idiot below...Mindless sounds nothing like Limp Bizkit (that would turn me off if I read something like that, and I want you to BUY this record, my dear reader). He is ignoring the punk rock influence (I really do hate to keep bring this up, but it needs to be said), which mostly comes out in the guitar riffs...listen close to those, by the way; you'll hear some rather intelligent and well-written stuff...
Mindless is a funny band, sure, but don't let people over-exaggerate; they are here to serve a purpose. Read the booklet: they don't want racists, homophobes, fundamentalists, or any other intolerant people to buy their records, wear their tee-shirts, or come to their shows...they thank culture revolutionists for raising the bar...they're sexually ambiguous...what I'm getting at is that MSI are here to challenge people. Their sense of irony is ridiculously sharp, and their intelligence level is higher than people think. Sure, there are adolescent jokes and the like, but they ultimately come off not as a stupid ICP-like band, but more like honor roll, art-school smartasses being as provocative as can be. To say that MSI is PURELY predicated on a joke, like the guy below says, takes away their importance.
If you want a different kind of punk experience, pick up this record.

"I'm an "older American" who LOVES this CD, but perhaps most people of my age would cringe away from the unusual electronic sound, which might be described as noise upon first listen, and the pretty raw lyrics. I'm here to tell you to listen again until you understand the point. Once you "get it" you'll be delighted by the silliness interlaced with social commentary. The intricate electronic bursts overlaid with live music are spectacular. Add Little Jimmy's vocalizations that move blithely and rapidly from trilling and caterwauling to bass/percussion pounding rap to lilting reggae to "scream-like-a-girl" and you have surprisingly organized, beautifully orchestrated/programmed MUSICAL noise. My favorites include most of the tracks, and are too numerous to mention here, but i would suggest paying special attention to Cocaine and Toupees, Golden i, Kill the Rock, Masturbates, Planet of the Apes, among others, as I found them to be particularly interesting, both musically and vocally. The band's ability to play over and around pre-programmed electronic music exhibits particular technical skill and it appears that Little Jimmy has chosen his back up band for its ability to add to the power and then get out of his way. They don't take themselves seriously and they don't expect us to either. They do, however, take their music seriously, and seem to be "virtual" geniuses at putting it all together. If you don't "get" the odd twists and turns in life and accept them with aplomb, you won't "get" this, either. You either get it or you don't. GET IT. PLAY IT LOUD!"

"If your not familier with MSI then this is the cd to get. It's definately the most original and craziest music out there and it's got 30 tracks! Where else can you get songs about Melissa Joan Hart, Jimmy Page, toupees, 711, and the thirty-third president all on one cd? My favorite songs on this cd have to be Masturbates, Golden I, and J. Once you buy this cd and listen to it, you will either love it or hate it. If you love it, let me warn you, you will be hooked. Hooked enough to want to buy their album "Tight" (good luck finding that one) and their live set "Alienating Our Audience". If you hate it, then go buy some Celine Dion."
