CD Reviews
WOW!

"I own all three of Mindy's CDs and I agree with a previous reviewer. This one is THE BEST! She just put more emotion into this one than the others, and her song choice was superior to the other albums. My favorite songs on this album are Ten Thousand Angels, Maybe He'll Notice Her Now, A Girl's Gotta Do (What A Girl's Gotta Do), and Have A Nice Day. The rest of the songs are acceptable, also. There are NO bad songs on this CD. I think these songs are very real and most of us (especially females) can relate to the issues they present: trying not to fall in love with the wrong guy, moving on with our lives after a break-up, being in love with someone but too scared to tell them, and being afraid of getting our hearts broken. I highly recommed this album. If you're considering purchasing a Mindy album for the first time, this is DEFINITELY the one you want to get. If you own her other two albums, you'll also want to pick up a copy of this one. Buy it today, you will NOT be disappointed!"
Voice of an Angel

"The voice of an angel. That's what instantly comes to mind when I put this cd in my cd player. Mindy McCready's debut album Ten Thousand Angels. Sure you know the big hits from here, such as Guys Do It All The Time, Ten Thousand Angels and more, but thats only the icing on the cake. Mindy McCready, from Florida, headed to Nashville in hopes of getting a recording contract. She told her mom she would stay one year, then come home. The 51st week she was in Nashville, she was signed with BNA/BMG, and this album was released.Ten Thousand Angels shows a mature vocalist who has a keen ear for good songs and music. Songs like Without Love, Have A Nice Day and Maybe He'll Notice Her Now show Mindy's vocal quality quite well, as well as her emotional deliverance. Mindy also tears it up on fun songs like Guys Do It All The Time, A Girl's Gotta Do (What A Girl's Gotta Do) and It Aint A Party.Overall Mindy's debut album is a great album. She shows a lot of talent, and a promise that she will be hanging around for a while. We are sure grateful of that!"

"I wonder where she went? She has a great voice and listening to this CD brings back tons of memories of days gone by. I would recommend this CD to anyone who likes to listen to female country artists with beautiful voices!"
Great Debut album from talented woman

"Mindy McCready was one of a few new female artists that emerged in 1996 in Nashville. The real breakout song of this album, and probably the signature song of her career is the tongue in cheek "Guys Do It All The Time", which was a #1 hit for her. TEN THOUSAND ANGELS is her debut album which has a variety of uptempo songs and ballads. The title track was also a top 10 hit for her, as was the tongue in cheek "A Girl's Gotta Do (What A Girl's Gotta Do)". My favorite song is the ballad "Maybe He'll Notice Her Now", a duet with Lonestar's frontman Richie McDonald. It's a beautiful song overall and it should have been a bigger hit than it was. She shows attitude on songs like "It Ain't A Party", "All That I Am", "Guys Do It All The Time" and "A Girl's Gotta Do (What A Girl's Gotta Do)". She came to Nashville at the young age of 18 and had a contract exactly a year after she came. Sadly, after her second album her star faded, and after moving to Capitol in 2000, she released her fourth album, but was dropped later in 2002. The ballads on this disc are pretty good, like "Have A Nice Day", and "Tell Me Something I Don't Know", which stand as the best along with the duet with Richie McDonald. Overall a really good debut album from a talented young lady, Nashville gave up on."
Outstanding debut is still her best album

"Mindy is a brilliant singer and gets the chance to show it on this excellent collection of songs. The title track is a song about vulnerability while Guys do it all the time is an amusing look at different attitudes regarding men and women. Other favorites of mine include Maybe he'll notice her now and A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do, although every song here is a gem.The first nine tracks are (as far as I know) all originals, but the album closes with an oldie, Breaking it, which first appeared on a Claire Lynch album in the early eighties. Claire wasn't very enthusiastic about that album, but some great singers have covered songs from it. Mindy has recorded some great music on her (so far) three subsequent albums, but none of those albums come close to matching the overall brilliance of this debut album. This is what I call quality contemporary country."
