"July 12,1979 was the day that Minnie Riperton passed away.Just less than a week prior to this tragic day,The Merv Griffin Show aired on Friday(July 6)the show featuring her performing "Memory Lane".The sentiment of that show and her death makes this lp a bittersweet memory indeed."Minnie" has long been out of print and in sparse luck, available on C.D(As a japanese import about 10 years ago)so to pay tribute to her by reissuing this '79 classic is long overdue. The tracks "Lover and Friend"(how can your heart do anything but race with Stevie's jazzy intro),her swapping vocal candy with Jose Feliciano on"Light My Fire",The breathless splendor of "Return To Forever" and the excellent dance track "Dancin' & Actin' Crazy"(even a songbird can get funky). All Minnie fans please stand and be accounted for."Minnie" is back, welcome her to the new millenium"
For the Serious Minnie Fans!!!!!!

"Wow! This brings back serious memories. I was 13 when this Album was released and it was one of the best and at the top of my list at the time. Listening to these samples on Amazon.com just made chills run up and down my spine. To hear the songs, "Love Hurts", "Never Existed Before", "Dancin' and Actin' Crazy" and "I'm a Woman" was so exciting, since I haven't heard them in years. I still have the album in my collection and I will dig it out tomorrow. But It would be a Special tribute to Minnie Riperton to be re-released on CD! I just have to say WOW one more time. P.S. It's so good to see Minnie's daughter doing her acting thing now. She's so funny on Saturday Night Live. You go Maya!!!!!!! I'm sure your Mom is looking down and smiling & laughing with you."
