CD Reviews

Worth the Price

"This soundtrack is worth buying if you like Rachael Portman's soundtracks such as 'Emma' and 'Chocolat,' the tracks and style being pretty similar. This cd makes a wonderful gift for people who love this genre of classical and soundtrack music. Songs include a jig (track 7) and two pieces at the end (tracks 15 & 16) which in my opinion are the best."
Magnificently transporting

"I love atmospheric instrumental music dripping with emotion and I love Jane Austen. So no surprise that in my first run through the movie, I was salivating over the music and reaching for the laptop to try to find the soundtrack. I could not find the physical CD, and eventually opted for the MP3 because I simply had to have it. It is that good.

The music does not require you to love the movie, of course, or even Jane Austen. It is beautiful, powerful, moving and takes me to another place altogether. The clips are a pretty good sampling of the album. If you like the small bits, you will love the whole thing. Enjoy!"
