"i've been a fan of barbara's for a few years now, and i eagerly anticipated this release. watching her spin live is truly a spectacle - the energy she puts into her sets is unbelievable. it would be impossible to capture the intensity and spontaneity of one of barbara's sets on cd. but 'relentless beats' gives us a taste of her talent.this cd is full of hard bangin techno and tech house. right from the start, we're treated to an onslaught of driving rhythms, and it keeps going for the rest of the cd. barbara's mixing is superb as she switches records at a furious pace. she rarely lets just one track spin by itself - most of the cd consists of layered music. she can hold a mix for an incredible amount of time.as for the tracks, they're all great, but a few stand out. 'dammelo' is one of my favorite songs at the moment, and 'first impressions' is a techno masterpiece. 'voltaren' and 'virton' are great, too.the last couple of tracks are more relaxed than the rest of the cd. they provide a good cool-down for the end of the cd.misstress barbara is one of the most talented people in the music business. this release proves that she's a force to be reckoned with. i'm sure we'll hear more from barbara in the years to come."

"Misstress Barbara, hailing from Montreal happens to be one of the most talented techno DJs in the world- as her scintillating mix amply justifies, as she delivers some of the best techno there is for the discerning dance music fan. Expect no frills, cheese and poppish dance melodrama- instead, this CD enthralls, captivates, and finally sends chills down my spine everytime I listen to it. This is techno to its finest- banging, straight-up and relentless. After a few listens, the misstress leaves me on my knees- begging for more."

"All I can say is that the beats on this album are RELENTLESS! I listened to this album for 6 hours straight and could not stop jumping up and down. The beats are hard and nasty with a soulful feel. If you are a techno lover this is one album you do not want to live without."

"i dont really know much about the misstress except she is from Toronto and I saw her play once in DC this past Thanksgiving Weekend. All i can really say is that this disc is very true to the set i heard live........hard, bangin, straight up techno. The name of the disc surely fits and the tracks are somewhat unique, the album lacks the big techno names, May, Saunderson, Atkins, Carl Craig, Hawtin, but it still delivers. If you like it hard, give it a try......SAVE THE ECOSYSTEM"
