Nice to get Video, but CD may not be available.

""I've got a feeling " is the first single off of Monaco's 2nd album "Monaco". This disk has 3 audio tracks, and an ISO 9660 data track which contains the video for "I've got a feeling" in Quicktime format (play on either PC or Mac). Tracks 2 & 3 are the non-album "b-side" songs "Heaven 7" and "Barfly" (on both of which the lead vocal is provided by Hook). Unfortunatly, the single was cancelled/recalled in the UK due to a problem obtaining clearance with a sample used on "Heaven 7"; I am not sure if the item (that is) listed is this version, or if it is an updated version without the track "heaven 7". At the time of this review, no track listing or part number is present in Amazon's database to clarify this.Anyway, "I've got a Feeling" is yet another very fine piece of catchy Manchester pop that will have you humming the chorus at unexpected moments during the day. "Heaven 7" and "Barfly" are a bit more relaxed, but not any less enjoyable.Unlike prevous CD-Sigles from Monaco, there are no remix versions of songs. Also both b-sides are rather short. I knocked a star off my review for the brevity of Audio content compared to previous Monaco CD-Singles.However, the video is a blast, so I tacked an extra star back on. The 38MB video clip is 3 Minutes 42 seconds in length, encoded at a resoultion of 352 x 288. The Audio and Video are good. The video itself is fun and a bit tounge-in-cheek as Hook and Potts help two canine friends find happiness. In summary, if you like either of Monaco albums, you'll probably enjoy the content of this single. However, if you already have the album "Monaco", the main reason for getting this single is for the non-album tracks and the video due to the lack of remixes."
Worth It For The B-Sides

"The actual single on this CD is edited and the full length version is on the album anyway. But the two songs not present on the album, "Heaven 7" and "Barfly" definitely make this worth buying. The former has a catchy chorus and a latin-type feel to it (listen for the short instrumental interlude). The latter is simply gorgeous. Deep bass and guitar playing and lush synths accented by Peter Hook's superb, booming vocals. Not to mention the charming accoustic guitar riffs played after each of the first two choruses are just gorgeous! I'm sure I've never heard such beautiful guitar playing in my life. The only reason this release falls short of a perfect rating is because of its length. At twelve minutes its really short, even for a single. But then perhaps I've only become too accustomed to New Order's 25-45 minute singles. Still, if you don't mind popping the pennies for a couple of really great B-sides, then I would recommend this to anyone. And I have to say that of all the groups I like, Monaco is the ONLY group in which I like EVERY SINGLE SONG I have ever heard by them. Admittedly, their arsenal isn't that long yet. But I'm hoping it will become much more formidible in the near future."
