The Hottest Mongo Santamaria Album of them all!!!!

"As a youngster in the mid 60's I would grove to this type of Afro Cuban jazz played by my very hip father, usually Friday nights after a long week of work. Pop released himself from the grindwheel with a scotch on the rocks and playing these hot records long into the night. The next morning, up early, I would dig in the old man's record collection searching for what I'd heard the night before.
Man!, I'll never forget the first time I listened to my first Mongo record in those HUGE 60's style headphones. (btw, Pop's stereo was off limits, lol) It was "El Pussy Cat." The track Afro Lypso blew me away with its driving synchopated Afro Cuban beat. I must have played that one song over and over 100 times that morning. I was sprung right then and there on the genre, especially Mongo Santamaria. It's been over 40 years and nothing has even close to the power of this 1965 album by the King of Skins himself!!!!"
