"Her music continues to light up dance floors all over. I got this album in Spain before it came out here and it is a bit slower than the last one but still shows her powerful voice. I have a feeling that major remixes are gonna come out of this cd since most songs are slow. Sobrevivire comes in two forms, track two a slower version and the last track which is worth the cd itself. the last song just rules. That song is her best ever and if you like her dance music this song is for you. i would say to buy the cd just for that. also in the cd we have a whole bunch of slow songs, except track 4 a little up beat in spanglish. also we have a very fast tempo track 7 completely in English. And a track 9 which start slow and ends with fast music no singing. so if you want her fast stuff wait for remixed singles but get it for sobrevivire alone."

"WITHOUT A DOUBT MONICA NARANJO HAS DONE IT AGAIN, MINAGE IS NOT A COMMERCIAL ALBUM BUT A MORE PERSONAL ALBUM MONICA HAS BARED HER SOUL INTO THIS ALBUM. "PERRA ENAMORADA" IS A SONG OF HOW ONE GIVES THERE ALL WHEN ONE FALLS IN LOVE.."SOBREVIVIRE" IS A SONG ABOUT SURVIVING EVEN WHEN FEEL U CAN'T GO ON. ALMOST ALL THE SONGS ARE BALLADS.. FINALLY SHE SINGS A SONG IN ENGLISH "IF YOU LEAVE ME NOW" & ONE IN SPANGLISH "ENAMORRADA" YOU WILL NOT BE DESAPPOINTED.. HER VOICE WILL JUST TAKE YOU TO HEAVEN. THERE IS ALSO A NEW LIMITED EDITION ALBUM WHICH INCLUDE THE ENGLISH TRACKS TOTALLY IN SPANISH "IF YOU LEAVE ME NOW/ SEGUIRRE SIN TI" & "ENAMORRADA"... IN EACH SONG U WILL FEEL WHAT SHE FEELS BECAUSE SHE IS ONE OF THE FEW ARTISTS WHO CAN CAPTURE TRUE & RAW FEELINGS IN A SONG.BELIEVE ME YOU WILL NOT BE DESAPPOINTED....SIN DUDA UNA MUJER QUE TE HACE VIBRAR CON SU VOZ DE ALEGRIA Y DE TRISTEZA... BEST ALBUM I HAVE HEARD IN A LOOOONG TIME FROM ANY ARTIST..SIMPLY THE BEST!!! ONE WORD ""BREATHLES"""

"This is by far her best album in my opinion. The story where it sort of begins for this album is that she had already recorded some other album of her typical type of music being club pop dance and pop ballads ready to be released in the market but an unfortunate incident where she was on a plane where the engine i believe caught fire made her think a lot about how short life is. This is where she decided to not release her "typical pop album" and finally record the album she was dying to do for a while now. Her biggest influence has been this Italian singer named Mina and so she decided to pay homage to her idol on this album. *note the title of the album being Minage. What i enjoyed the most here is the risk Monica Naranjo took with this record. Most mainstream artists particularly latino ones wouldn't bother with such risks. But she did and that must be applauded. In this record, she plays the role of a man being in love with another man in the song ahora ahora. On the song el se encuentra entre tu y yo which is a duet with her idol Mina, it's all about two women being in love but there's a man in between. On my favorite track sobrevivire, she talks about prostitutes and their sense of surviving in their already tough reality. Abismo is a song about a woman dealing with her roughed-up life and finding solace in alcohol. And of course another favorite of mine perra enamorada where she sings about just being sick in love i would assume. Of course her record company where not too happy with the album one reason being that it became her least selling album in her career but an artistic accomplishment nonetheless. So before the album was released, Monica added two more "acceptable" songs one being a dance track titled if you leave me now and the other titled enamorada being one of the songs that was suppose to be on the album that wasn't released. At that point i would say her record label were cool with Minage. *note that her follow up to Minage was Chicas Malas where she returned to her Pop-dance-ballad roots...e-hem...record label influence perhaps!?* Monica is by far a very open minded individual and doesn't believe in stereotypes. She has stated in an interview that even though she's currently married to a man being her longtime manager she would be open to the idea of going out with another woman if it feels right. It's not so much about being gay bi or straight but more about staying true to your feelings about someone else. Whoever that someone else may be. Honesty is fully appreciated here. Maybe this is why her fan base is largely made up of homosexuals especially men but again like she said please don't stereotype. Her music is for everyone and in this record she made a great album where you can appreciate her talent as not only a singer but as an artist! I'm sure this won't be the last time we will be experiencing Monica being quite introspective with her music. :-)"

"I saw Monica Naranjo on the Pavarotti and Friends video that ran on Bravo. Out of everyone that was on the show, she was the one whom I remembered. The song she performed on that show which made me come here in search of her music was track two of this album, "Sobrevivire."However, fortunately, there are quite a few other songs which definitely make this album worth buying, such as "If You Leave Me Now," "Mi Vida Por Un Hombre," "Enamorada" and "Abismo." These songs display her incredible range and soulfullness. Not being able to understand Spanish should not keep you from buying this album. Monica's voice is a pleasure to listen to, and there are two songs in English on the album.I am back to buy this album again to give as a gift to my sister-in-law, who is a high school Spanish teacher as well as a talented singer.Note: if you liked the "danceability" of her first album, this album will not appeal to you as much. However, it is much deeper; a much more serious work that I find much more enjoyable than "Monica Naranjo" which I also bought (it's her first album).Enjoy!"
