Serious Quality Issues with these CDs

"Rhino built a reputation on creating first-quality reissues of rock 'n' roll records. Having purchased more than 200 Rhino LPs, cassettes, and CDs over the years, I have rarely been even a tiny bit disappointed with any of them...until now.
There are two quality control issues with the discs in this set. One or two tracks on each disc suffers from dropouts in the sound. My guess is that when transferring the recordings from master tapes to digital, one of the tape reels was warped, intermittently pulling the tape away from the playback head of the recorder. This problem should have been caught and corrected before any CDs were manufactured.
On "The Birds, the Bees, & the Monkees" track 16 starts with one song, then abruptly shifts to a different song. When track 16 ends this second song continues uninterrupted into track 17, where it concludes. It is not the song listed on the disc label or the slipcase for either track. Then, in the middle of track 17, another song begins (also not the one listed for this track). About 45 seconds into track 17, this song stops, and that is the end of the disc. This problem also should have been noticed and corrected before any discs were manufactured.
I have made two calls to the toll-free number listed on Rhino's web site. They seem to go to a call center in India. The people there could not help me. They suggested sending an e-mail to Dr. Rhino, which I did. 10 days later, no response at all. Today I phoned Rhino's offices in Burbank...twice. I left a voice mail message the second time. Not optimistic about getting a call back, much less a resolution to the problem.
This experience makes me reluctant to purchase any other products from Rhino Europe. Or Rhino USA, for that matter. Not a good way to treat a loyal long-time customer."

"I loved the Monkees as a child and I still feel warm and fuzzy when I hear them on the radio. But now I'm feeling a little hot and a lot disappointed because the last disc, after skipping again and again, just cut itself off mid-song. (The second disc has a few skips, but none more than an occasional hiccup.) Aren't CD's supposed to be free of those skips LPs are so prone to?"
