"After Robert's Chain Reaction release "HongKong," comes this. Even though both HongKong and Gravity are perhaps more essential (each for their own reasons), Interstate has enough techno-beats, dubby scapes and blips and bleepage to satisfy anyone who likes any kind of electronic music. Taking the dubbier and more esoteric moments from HongKong, the thick dronage of Gravity, and the glitches and the "quasi-natural" sounds of Gobi; you then have the main bulk of this album.HongKong is perhaps more laid back and melodic, with Gravity being generally more "maximal" / thick / layered etc. Interstate is therefore an appropriate name as it occupies a space in Henke's musical evolution between both of these albums - not too chilled, but never too busy.If you like the ambient/glitch-dub stuff that's going around at the moment, then you can't go wrong here."
