A "Present" Surprise

"The original audio CD was fairly good but this remaster has better sound (Justin Hayward, good remastering job). I've alway enjoyed this album and this release re-ignited my interest. It is another one of those Moody Blues albums I thought did not get the attention it deserved. Its only drawback became apparent when I then compared it to the LP (hence 4 stars instead of five). The remaster has clarity and strength but the LP brings out the Moody Blue's vocals with a much warmer sound. If you don't have the LP this remaster is the next best thing. It is also a good candidate for a SACD.
As an engineer I know digital media is taking over, better, faster, cheaper. TV yes, photos maybe, music not yet. LP's are still great, the audio cassette was a mistake from begining to end, CD's are good to varying degrees and getting better, MP3's are fool's gold. History repeats itself. Cassettes were portable with limited audio with a lot of tape noise and today's MP3 are audio shortcuts leaving out most of the audio information for a smaller file size."
