They made their live debut at 2004's South By South West Festival (SXSW) in Austin, TX.

Take their advice and don't make your live debut at SXSW, unless you really like stress.

Moon Maan's recently completed full-length debut album will be released in Spring 2007.

Members:

Rick McCollum .. Guitar, Vocals and Theremin

Rick was a founding member of the Afghan Whigs, who recorded five highly acclaimed albums for Sub Pop, Elektra, and Columbia Records before disbanding in 2000.

Bryan Knisley .. Guitar and Vocals

Bryan was a founding member of the Minneapolis bands Snapperhead and Push On Junior, who recorded several albums for the Earmark label in the 1990s. Bryan is also the owner and in-house engineer at North Orbit Studios.

Mark Pakulski .. Bass

Prior to joining Moon Maan, Mark was playing bass with Signal & Report. Previous to that he had played guitar with a variety of Minneapolis based bands, including the Psychedelicates.

Erik Mathison .. Drums and Percussion

Erik has played with a variety of Minneapolis based artists, including Balloon Guy (Warner Brothers), Polara (Interscope), Jessy Greene, and Mark Mallman.

Ugh

"I loved the Afghan Whigs, but this CD from Rick McCollum's new band just doesn't compare to Greg Dulli's post-AW output in the Twilight Singers and more recently with Mark Lanegan as the Guttter Twins.

It's not bad for what it is: straight-ahead rock with big guitars and gutsy vocals. But to my ears the vocals are rather unpleasant and the songs have little of the genius of McCollum's former band, and that was a disappointment to me."
