"Everything Invaded is the first single to be released from 'The Antidote', Moonspell's new album to be released in late September. There are 3 songs on the cd, all new and unreleased. No live tracks or covers here; the extra 2 songs are supposedly tracks from The Antidote recording sessions but didn't make it on the album.
As for the songs... they are definitely Moonspell. Dark, mysterious and brooding in their own ways.. as Moonspell is.

Track 1: Everything Invaded- This song is upfront for the most part with the main melodic guitar oriented hook/chorus. Yet inbetween lie small parts of subtle, light acoustic guitar strumming along with whispered vocals. Aside from that the song is heavy and guitar oriented and trods along nicely.Track 2: Crystal Gazing- Another heavy guitar oriented song. A few deadly and dark guitar hooks permeate this song. Add some delicious drum work along with some double bass action and the song is tastefully heavy and a treat to listen to. During the verses a clean guitar strums along to Fernando's delicate lyrics.. and then explodes into the heavy chorus. A good song.Track 3: The Darkening- Perhaps the best song out of the 3 on this cd. This song, to me, represents what this band is about. Simple is better. Laid back, brooding but hopeful feelings I get out of this song. A background of soft guitar and keyboards permeate most of the song. The vocals are very hushed even when the heavier guitar picks up. I definitely feel atmosphere in this song more than the others, and atmosphere is one of the aspects that Moonspell perform well. In all this material is, in comparison to their last album 'Darkness and Hope', a bit lighter in sound production and less aggressive. But this is only the single and is only a taste of what is to come from the new album. Although there are definitely heavy parts it seems like the production is lacking a little bit. One reason I believe it sounds lighter is the absence of bassist Sergio Crestana, whose deep and prominent bass sound made Moonspell the dominant force it has been.. and their bass lines were part of their signature sound- even moreso than the guitar is. Besides that I feel this is a very promising taste of what is to come from them in September. Buy this single if you are in any way a Moonspell fan!"
