CD ReviewsAn unsatisfying, expensive vanity David Goodwin | Westchester, NY United States | 02/08/2004 (1 out of 5 stars) "For years, "Exit" was the one Mops album I didn't have; simultaneously, it was by far the hardest to find. I longer for the day when it would be easy to get, so I could finally hear this--the Mops' live sendoff--in its entirety. And then I got it.The tracklisting is kind of deceiving. If you believe it, you'd think that this album contains live renditions of some very excellent tunes, some covers and some originals. It does...kinda, if by "includes" you mean "has 30 seconds of which, broke up by narration." In all honesty, I'm kinda confused as to what "Exit" is trying to accomplish. It isn't quite a live album, as the live tracks are (as mentioned previously) small snippets broken up by odd narration from the lead singer. It also has several pretty, yet inconsequential studio instrumentals (by the band?) linking the tracks together. And for some reason, a nice live rendition of the band's first hit, "Asamade Matenai" segues into a heavily-processed version of the studio cut for the fade-out. Why?Verdict: Avoid. There are better Mops live albums. Heck, *anything* is better than this expensive, schizoid mess."
