"Attention all you Jump Blues fans who think Cherry Poppin' Daddies and Brian Setzer are swing... Mora will blow your mind. No attitude, no posing, just genuine swing -- pefectly recorded reconstructions of the late 20s and early 30s music that created the insanity in the first place. They play fast, cool, tight, and deliriously jazzy, and knock any mugging jump blues wannabe on his pretty boy butt. Everything here is superb, but "Stockholm Stomp" will set fire to your feet and "Night Wind" will carry you away with its swinging romanticism. And when in L.A., watch for Mora at the Derby every Wednesday night."
Top Notch, Authentically Recreates Sound of Early/Mid 30's

"This is one of Mora's earlier CD's, but it is worth owning. If you enjoy the era that bridges the Hot and Sweet Jazz of the 20's and the Big Band Swing sound of the latter 30's and 40's, then this CD is for you. The songs are taken from both eras, but especially targets the era inbetween. Although strings keep the beat, there are muted cornet interludes and other features of 20's music. The Swing songs are great, but not the Big Band constant echo styles that later evolved. The band is tight sounding. The quality is excellent. The only weak spot in this CD is that is was recorded before Ms. Yates came along to do vocals, so there are only a few (weak) male vocals. But, all in all, this is a great CD. I'm glad I have it."
