"This cd not only encourages me but it inevitably leads me into worship. I thank God for the ministry of Morris Chapman. His voice soothes me to the core of my soul and I know it's all God... Jesus in him, reaching out and loving all who listen."

"Once again, the deep, assuring vocal tones of Morris Chapman lift our spirits to a new level and bring us closer to the Lord through song. His musical ministry is without a doubt, one of the most moving one can experience. Morris is truly blessed with a gift that rivals no other today. He indeed invokes the power of the Holy Spirit through his music!"
Sheer brilliance from Rev. Morris Chapman!

"Morris Chapman's earlier album "Live Worship" brought the work of this servant of God firmly to my attention in the late '90's. I heard the album on a friend's cassette and decided I simply had to have a copy - posthaste! The CD turned out to be rather hard to find, and it did take me a while, but I found it in the end and was somewhat fortunate to pay the then standard $14 for it.

Such was the impression "Live Worship" made on me that when the Psalmist was released, I did not even bother to sample it. I just went for it and would be truthful in saying I was not disappointed - not at all.

There is something about the music of Morris Chapman that prompts introspection - really makes you stop, listen and learn. "Moving" and "inspirational" are the key phrases here and you cannot help but thank God for this servant who has truly found his talent and used it to great effect.

The Psalmist follows a formula similar to Live Worship. There is the high tempo leading track (Mighty God) followed by a run of spiritually charged mid tempo gospel anthems and all of them done with passion and the quality of instrumentation and vocals you soon come to expect of Morris Chapman.

The Pros:

Excellent album, plenty to choose from - if you must choose. The Psalmist, I will restore, The Love of God medley are recommended listening.

The Cons:

No real ones. I would still give Gold to Live Worship and Silver to The Psalmist, but there is nothing truly objective about this; just personal preference.

Verdict:

A worthy addition to your gospel collection. The Psalmist does not disappoint. There is plenty to choose from. You should only expect the best from Morris Chapman and The Psalmist delivers. Totally thumbs up and highly recommnended!"
