"Hyperion's latest release in the series "The Romantic Piano Concerto" continues to shed light on a composer that has been neglected for too long. This is the second volume of Moscheles Piano Concerti, and this volume shows the growth and versatility of this fine composer with the Mozartean 1st concerto to the more Beethovian 6th and 7th concertos. But this is not music that copies from the two afore-mentioned masters. These concerti, along with the ones in the 1st volume, display Moscheles' originality, artistry and creativity.
This series of recordings continues to give a great deal of satisfaction. There are thirty-two volumes in the series, with many of the concerti unavailable in any other recordings. There have been some true masterworks of the neglected piano/orchestra repitoire revived and/or discovered. And even the works that can't really be claimed as masterworks are at the very least highly interesting to listen to. A top-notch series, highly recommended!"
