"This collection of Ravel orchesteral pieces is very close to a similar collection done by Kent Nagano and the Opera National De Lyon, which I liked well enough, given my feeling that except for his great ballet 'Daphnis et Chloe', Raval is generall just 'pretty'. But, Dutoit has turned me around. He gives s superior performance for this lesser ballet, 'Ma Mere l'Oye' and makes it much more interesting piece to listen to. I am enormously gratified in this fact in that for no special reason, I had a higher opinion of Dutoit than I did of Nagano, but this confirms my inclination.
Very nicely done, Charles Dutoit and Orchestre symphonique de Montreal!"
