Excellent Album Gets Even Better

"Lemmy hits the nail on the head in the liner notes when he says, "We were a blues band, although we played it at a thousand miles an hour."
Motorhead gave heavy metal (and punk, for that matter) a good kick in the arse with the March '79 release 'Overkill.' Countless bands (including Metallica and Anthrax) have said they would've never existed without this album and the two or three that came after it.
The Motorhead influence will continue to thrive, and the recent domestic reissues of many of their albums will only expand that influence. The sound quality is a slight improvement from the late '90s editions, but the bonus discs are the biggest reason to upgrade. I have purchased 'Ace Of Spades' and 'Overkill' so far, and both of them contain extensive alternate takes, b-sides, and songs from the band's BBC sessions.
Darth Kommissar is right when he says this is essential to every hard rock/metal fan's collection. Highly recommeded.
