"The third release in Sulphur Record's Meld Series offers two 15+ minute ambient composition, one from David Abirs and the other from Ashley Wales. Freed from the distracting literalness of lyrics, both musicians meditate in their musical lexicons. Like the soundtrack to a dream of life spent underwater, Abir's track floats through his complex weave using only a keyboard, cello, and the lilting vocals of singer Rebecca Chamberlain. Clouds collide and disperse, rain scours the surface, and waves break, but the classically trained composer carries us where only the beauty registers. Wales' track also travels through life's more elusive qualities. Like a walk through a dark and unfamiliar house, Wales seems intimidated by what lies just beyond one's vision, or perhaps, life at times."
