No debtor to its predecessors

"As I have praised the Naxos Mozart Complete Piano Concertos edition enough on volumes 1 through 9, suffice it to say here that this tenth volume, recorded in January 1991, is no debtor to its predecessors. Concerto No. 15 is for one piano, played (as usual) delightfully by Jenö Jandó; the other two concertos on this disc were written for two pianos, although the ?Lodron? (No. 7) was originally composed for three pianos, but the third part was for an amateur who could not play too well, and Mozart later re-wrote the whole for just two soloists ? the version that Jenö Jandó and Dénes Várjon play here. The whole is captured on CD more than adequately (the two pianos can be quite easily distinguished, especially if you listen on speakers and not headphones), and the Concentus Hungaricus proves itself once again to be a more than adequate partner for the soloists. If you are working your way through Mozart?s Piano Concertos or even through this Naxos series, you need have no qualms at buying this budget-priced CD, it is worth every cent you spend on it."
An Excellent Mozart Cycle

"Along with this CD I now have the complete Mozart piano concertos with Jando and some very proficient orchestras on Naxos. Definitely Middle European Mozart. These are very masculine(not porcelain doll) interpretations with excellent sound. They belong in the top category of interpretations. You cannot go wrong with this cycle."
