Casual Mozart

"Both musicians here are super famous but the performances are way too casual for this great music. Mozart's Violin Concerti are not as dramatic as the Mendelssohn or Brahms but they do have depth. Unfortunately, that depth is simply missing here, especially in Concerto No. 5, Mozart's most passionate concerto. There are people that love this approach. I am not one of them. The Amazon marketplace price is great but I would look elsewhere."
Superb!

"To put it simply, these recordings are superb. I'll admit I wasn't a huge fan of Mozart before I heard this CD because it seemed that many performances of his music were completely devoid of emotion. However, Perlman's playing, while never overly sentimental or passionate, is supremely lyrical and full of depth, revealing the emotional character of Mozart's music behind its refined exterior. This is a must have both for fans of Mozart and for fans of Perlman."
