Based on cover: my first and favorite Mozart recording

"While perusing various Mozart horn concerto CD's, I recognized the cover of this one. I owned this recording of his concertos in the mid 1970's on cassette tape. I loved the cassette so much I wore it out. By the time I wore it out, I could no longer find any Alan Civil recordings whatsoever.

Alan Civil's playing is exquisite on this recording. No other version of the horn concertos with other soloist comes close to this recording. It is a delight from the first note to the last.

Do buy this CD (if you can find it). It features a soloist whom I consider the best french horn musician of the last century."
