"This set is fantastic! You get all of Schnabel's major Mozart recordings (1934-1948) in very good mono remastered.
I won't get into each concerto but it's very clean and stately Mozart with fast and strong energetic drive and packs great punches. No overemphasizing, no skipping over things, no languishing...
These recordings have become great classics and were the only commercial recordings of them in the late 30's and 40's.
It's hard to realize Schnabel's virtuosity in these recordings! He doesn't "showcase" his technique, although you can totally sense his magnetic genius!
This set is actually as essential (to me) as his famous Beethoven Sontata cycle. It's as important and historical! Not to be missed!"
