Great Performance

"Awesome performance of these groundbreaking quartets which Mozart labored over intensely and dedicated to his favorite composer Hadyn. The instruments shimmer; the recording is first-rate. The third quartet in particular stands out, with its strange motif, and the sixth with the famously dissonant opening."
This is a "historical" performance

"This is really a wonderful performance and recording of six of my favorite pieces. I did not realize when I bought it that the Salomon quartet specialized in period performances. A recording of the same set by the Budapest Quartet was stolen from my car and needed to be replaced. I'm glad I stumbled onto this recording, which is a great asset, but I miss the other, which is completely different, and I'll probably end up buying the Budapest version again, too."
