Lyne Fortin. Remarkable

"This is an artist of international caliber who seems to be hiding from an international career in the admittedly glorious Provinces of Canada.
You need have no qualms buying this collection. Miss Fortin is the real deal with a vocal instrument so seemingly versatile as to defy categorization. Lyric? Coloratura? Light Dramatic? I'll leave it up to you. Good luck!
Any artist who embraces musical and cultural styles as diverse as Mozart and Berg, with a generous helping of Offenbach and Puccini thrown in for good measure, all of which, on this and other CDs, she seems to sing with the same consummate musicality, individuality and artistry deserves - no, demands - our attention.
You will note that in the selection at hand here, she traverses the roles of the Countess, Suzanna and Cherubino in "Figaro". I have no idea which one, or more, she actually sings in the house, so perfect does she seem for each. And, just for good measure, she tosses off an Exsultate Jubilate that must be one of the finest on record.
Lyne Fortin. Remarkable."
