"The songs in this CD, except maybe #10 are all "so sad, so sad" that it will make you happy you bought this disk!! #10 - You Can't Lose What You Ain't Never Had was made with a wink ;-) for those who take the blues tooooo seriously. The quality of the recording and transfer to CD format is nothing short of state of the art! While you listen to this CD, better prepare some coffee for Muddy and his friends, it will feel like they're there with you. If I didn't make my self clear so far, get this one fast (the 20 bit version) and don't lose it."

"The blues just don't get any more authentic than this. Mostly acoustic-based, this CD has an intimate feeling that is rarely matched by ANY recording, especially one that is 30 or so years old. If you are a little too "po" to afford this gold CD (no denying it's spendy!), check out the double CD "Sings Big Bill Broonzy" AND "Folk Singer" on one CD. Not quite as flawless a CD transfer, perhaps, but it sounds GREAT, and it's definitely more Blues Bang for the buck!"

"Yeah, I know--just about every audio rag you can wiggle a wire at has praised this CD. So why am I bothering to include it here? Because if I can reach out and touch just one wayward soul who has somehow managed not to give this CD a listen, I will have fulfilled my purpose here on this lonesome and dreary world.



Yeah, I know--that's a lot of BS: seriously, though, Folk Singer is a real gem both sonically and musically, and if you have not yet heard it, you are truly missing out on one of this lonesome and dreary world's more uplifting experiences."
