""folk singer" definitely is one of the recordings i could spend days on end on an island. but which version to buy? the best sounding ones imho are still some of the analogue LP reissues (the MFSL ain't bad at all...). if it *has* to be a digitized version, and if you have a SACD compatible CD-player, this recording ain't bad at all either ;-) the DSD technology makes the seminal recording sound almost analogue-like. but to my tin ears, the DVD-A version by classic records (also available @ [...] ) offers slightly superior sound quality ("darker" background, more pronounced macro- and micro dynamics -- in other words: just more life-like)."
